Ghost Box in association with Trunk Records have commissioned a super limited edition of beautifully handcrafted Original Peter record bags. Available now only in the Original Peter shop.

Only ten of these beautiful bags have been produced based on the classic Original Peter navy blue 12″ bag. Hand made in the UK from double bonded waterproof canvas with high grade leather, brass and military webbing.

The front flap logo and text, designed by Julian House was intended to reproduce a moiré effect in embroidery. This required two embroidered patterns sewn in over each other, an unusual and surprisingly complex technique, but the overall effect is superb.
The Ghost Box bags also come with a pair of bespoke record stiffeners in canvas plus a a copy of “In a Moment… Ghost Box” the new compilation LP marking ten years of Ghost Box records.

We’re very excited to announce that the new album by The Advisory Circle, From Out Here will be released on 5th December.

Exploring darker territory than  2012’s more pastoral As The Crow Flies, The Advisory Circle hint at a Wyndham-esque science fiction story, where bucolic English scenery is being manipulated and maybe even artificially generated by bizarre multi-dimensional computer technology.

Jon Brooks’ strong sense of melody and composition is still evident as is his renowned sound design and production skill. All of which make this a rich and rewarding experience.

The CD and LP will come lavishly packaged with artwork by Julian House based on the original concepts for the music. The 180gm LP will come with a free download code, and the download and CD versions include three bonus tracks.

It’ll be released on 5th December and will be available to pre-order in the Ghost Box shop from 12th November.

New in the Ghost Box shop today there’s a high quality, extra heavy duty 12oz canvas tote bag. Its 38cm x 43cm with a depth of 10cm and very tough seams. Far more substantial than a standard cotton tote; you can DJ, shop or simply step out with confidence and spectral style. Truly a bag for life and beyond.

There are two new T-Shirts over in the Ghost Box shop available right now. Both designed by Julian House, one is based on the artwork for The Focus Group’s Elektrik Karousel and the other is a new Ghost Box design based on the old 70s and 80s Granada TV ident.

Also available now is the Ghost Box Badge Pack B. Including Advisory Circle, Belbury Poly and Focus Group badges based on recent album art.
Finally there’s a very small quantity of high quality art prints remaining from last year’s Ghost Box exhibition and art sale in Glasgow’s Mono. Illustrating a variety of Belbury Youth Club activities, each 70x50cm print is signed and numbered by Julian House. In fact since these went on sale yesterday evening two of the three designs have already sold out, so you’ll need to act quickly to get one of the last copies remaining in the world. (The good people that run the Ghost Box shop strongly advise you opt for recorded delivery if ordering one of these.)

Last year Jon Brooks of The Advisory Circle took a break from his native Ghost Box  to record an album called Shapwick for Clay Pipe Records. Clay Pipe is a marvellously inventive boutique label run by Frances Castle, who specialises in beautifully hand made limited edition CDs.

Shapwick sold out of its first run of 110 overnight, so if you missed out the first time round, now is your chance to get it again, not the handmade CD unfortunately but this time its on Vinyl (with a free download code inside) and its in the Ghost Box shop right now. Once again though its only a limited edition.

Shapwick was inspired by a night drive through the countryside of England’s West Country and is in similar territory to the Advisory Circle’s melodic and melancholy, rustic electronics but taking in more elements of acoustic instrumentation and found sound. A perfectly self contained mood piece and as elegantly produced as any Brooks project.

UPDATE: This sold out in a matter of days again ! Clay Pipe tell us there may be another edition at some point – we’ll let you know.

Belbury Youth Club Posters

There are three new Belbury Youth Club posters designed by Julian House in the Ghost Box shop today.

There are two A2 generic BYC posters and an A3 poster designed for our recent Youth Club event in Glasgow. All three are printed on luxuriously heavy 200gsm paper. These are only available on line in the Ghost Box shop.
